I bought a Field Of Armour Jagdpanther a couple of months ago it had been pre built with electrics and done up beleive it or not in DAK colours even though Jagdpanthers were never in Africa as the Germans had lost the war in Africa before the Jagdpanthers were built. This tank is made of 20 guage steel and resin but it has no suspension this is the first thing I plan to do is put a working suspension in it. Plan A is a tourque bar suspension just like the real tank but if that fails I will add a sprung suspension. This tank was fitted with a Graupner controller and two gearboxes driven by 540 motors. On solid ground like slabs and road there was no problems with the tank but on grass there was a problem turning on it so I will add stronger motors to it as well. I have stripped the tank and gave it several coats of red primer and sealed the bottom with sealer and added angle bars to the inside for added strenth.
Stevie, I have designed a working suspension Targeted for the F.O.A.Tanks, I am constructing the prototype using my Viper 1/6 Tiger as a platform. This should be available in mid-Feb for the F.O.A. Jagdpanther and considering the cost you have incurred I would like to help you upgrade your Jagdpanther to this system.
If this is something you have considered please speak with me before wasting money on a "system" that really is not a true torsion bar type, which I believe is the only system that will work reliably and properly.
The hull modifications and the hardware required are obtainable on line and the cost is very reasonable. Pm me if your interested and we can discuss this further,if you have access to a drill press,a good bit set and some basic tools this is a system you can build for yourself.I designed it as a kit to be sold in the USA,but your situation on this Jagdpanther seems to make it a good first choice for this system.
Also their are specific details of you tank that I NEED,so we have the chance to help one another. cheers Blake
