Custom 'STAMP' or Radio work?

Post by Herr Fritz »

Has anyone used 'STAMP' or a similar technique to make their own receiving system?

A friend of mine works miracles with this amazing Stamp technology. He can program a sigle or multiple chip from his computer to do anything....for an example he can assign one pin for a led...time of on / off, how bright, blink sequence etc etc, same goes for motors, sounds yadda yadda.

I have not talked to him yet about this idea but I'm sure that he can take the HL receiver and tie it in to a brand new board. Can you imagine how cool that would be? He is also a electronics expert so the other needed goodies would be elementary to him.

What would I do?...tons but for starters - I would have the smokey sit in limbo building up the stuff and have the pump rotate only a few rotations on each new motor command.

The possibility of sound options is what I am imagining and a fraction of the Elmod cost.

What are your thoughts?

NOTE: I'm not cheap...only divorced and barely keeping my business a float

Sounds interesting....Explain more please.
Is there a standard PCB that he works with?
What sort of power source is needed?
How many outputs are there?
Is it just an ON/OFF command for each channel?
Is there a movement command for a servo?
Oh yes and cost please?

Thanks

When I know...you'll know LOL

So far at this point ( at least ) what with the work my buddy does its pretty much limitless.

I was just curious to check here to see what some may have tried or seen done before I bug my pal....he's a family guy and runs his own electronics manufacturing firm so I don't want to load him with a huge task or something that may not even be possible.

Tell us more, will it support higher functions and 24vdc systems (1/6th scale)? As my build progresses over the dark winter months I NEED A CONTROL SYSTEM,one I can design would be great.

That sounds cool! What Tank is it?

I'm sure it would work for any size of system as resistors, transistors and caps can control input voltage.

I'll send an email to him today and see what is possible.....if The system he designs for me can be tweaked easy enough I'm sure that he can make copies for a moderate fee. Heck He can sell these
to vendors and put elmod in a nervous place. ( not to be mean of course )

FINDINGS:

Using 'STAMP' technologies to design a new Tank control system would be a lot of work and
would involve a lot more than just creating a new chip or two.

Oh well....at least it was the thought that counts.

I hope all have a great Holiday season!

Cheers!
