A Naval Engineer designed the first Landship for Brittan

Post by Saxondog »

Sir Eustace Tennyson-d> Eyncourt 1st Baronet Naval Engineer and Landship Designer

This is a very interesting man and until recently i never knew he was connected with the Landship project, famous as a Naval designer of many fine Dreadnought warships and a force in the construction of the Royal Navy in WWI.

His abilities were very well known,he was the genius behind some of the most modern and innovative systems and weapons that allowed the Royal Navy and the British ship building industry to win the Naval Arms Race, and he was the man Winston Churchill knew could design a Landship to break the stalemate on the Western Front by giving the British Army a means to cut a path through through the barb wire and bullets to Victory.

Check out this short article and follow the story of this brilliant man. Also possibly his design could be debated here as it could be said he was the father of the Tank,or damn sure one of the men most responsible for the design becoming a working machine in warfare.
