smoking gun idea
right, a mate from the pub came up with idea years ago with a radio controlled battlship. what he did was mix talcum powder with a bit of soot and put it in the guns in front of the "shell". only problem is, the guns on his ship were spring powered and only fired once at a time without repriming. but, it got me thinking, could sxomeone work out how to put a slug of talc behing the bb so you'd get the puff of smoke when you fired the gun?? would have to be behind the bb because i think if it was front it might go solid because of the presure. anyone got any ideas? think it would look great, but possibly too complicated. discuss.

I would think the pressure launching the BB would bust any vessel that would hold the talc. now you could make a Talc BB though and have the smoke puff when it hits something.

Re: smoking gun idea
was thinking more like an injector system, but not having my tank yet i dont know how the bb's are fed into the barrel, was a sort of thinking aloud exercise. talc filled bb's could be cool though. if you could do bot would be cooler. still a big kid. lol

To using BBs, you need GB from ASG but some mechanism. Is possibility from greengas inventory from replica of pistols, but still you must hide bullet magazine. Most you using models in scale 1/16, where hide additinal stuff, for example in PzKPfwIII? I have some problem.

Re: smoking gun idea
use an airsoft turret unit and fill the bb tray with talc, instead of bb's, not sure how you would get it to do both... maybe coat the bbs in talc?
Re: smoking gun idea
Marker pellets are similar to the talc powder idea, they leave a residual mark as they burst. Not very effect as a simulation of a hit but is the best practical solution to date.
But here is a better question, how popular would a gun system be that has recoil,is self loading up to say 20 rounds of paintball ammo? It would be CO2 Powered, fit into most 1/16 scale tanks and use a scale barrel with scale muzzle brake.
The elevation and rotation would still function normally with exception of the up angle being restricted to 5deg. from a straight line.
The power would be effective at a range up to 60ft,with a lower muzzle velocity to prevent the round from being dangerous.
Would a system, with these specifications have a market within the RC Tank Battle community?

They've got more of a market in the us where they build their tanks out of wood at 1/10 scale specifically. I think with the detail people put on their ir tanks, they might get a bit upset if you covered it in paintball gunk.

Would be cool if you happend to have a HL basher laying around.
