Sept. 15,1940 Massive Bombing raids on Britain

Post by Saxondog »

On September 15,1940 the German's new bombing strategy begins, this is a result of the R.A.F.Raid on Berlin, a token raid it had the effect of changing the German Luftwaffe tactics to one of civilian bombing. This did allow the R.A.F.Fighter command time to regroup and train new pilots in new tactics.

LONDON, SOUTHAMPTON, BRISTOL, CARDIFF,LIVERPOOL AND MANCHESTER are bombed with little regard for civilian causality. The very point is to break down public will but by destroying the power houses, train stations, rail yards and docks.

Careful to avoid Government Buildings to try and show the suffering as the people not the government, this is the beginning of the raids that will galvanize the peoples will to fight.
