HL Tiger BB Gun Problem

Post by Spikey »

Hello All,
Have anyone experienced (and more importantly solved) problems with the Main gun not firing? (Yes, I have turned it on). Moving the remote lever for the gun forwards does absolutely NOTHING! I took the turret off to have a looky, but there was nothing obvious. I put a current from the battery onto the contacts and it whirled into life, so the gun itself works, so no need (?) to replace that. This has left me puzzled as to what to do. Has anyone had similar issues or any ideas as to what I can do?

Whilst I'm here, is it normal for the gun to go up/down by pulling the lever back? It seems a bit slow and a bit of an odd way to do it. I would of thought that pushing the lever forwards and back would move the gun up/down, whilst the little buttons could be used as the gun trigger? Just a thought...
Thanks

Spikey, it is normal for the gun to move slowly up and down when the stick is depressed. As for the firing issue the following link should assist you with the wiring to check the correct connections are made. Also on the side of the gun their is a small cover that is used as a wire guide, remove this and make sure the wires are 1,connected and two not pinched by the cover.

The link below should provide information to trace and test the wiring.

Wiring are the main issues, beyond that the gun is pretty basic, gear driven spring loaded air chamber, compresses a small cylinder with air, forcing the air through a smaller nozzle through the breach and out the barrel, the gun barrels have two relief hole to allow air in front of the pellet to escape. Not very powerful but it does work. At least most of the time.

But the wiring is often the cause of the gun not working, poor joints or pinched wires are common problems. Why do you have a gun issue?

The BBs supplied with most model tanks are usually of very poor quality and it doesn't take much of an imperfection to block the barrel which has to be rectified by opening up the tank to free it. I have started to use better quality BBs that are used in AEGs ( automatic electric guns) these are available off the internet. They of far better accuracy and not that expensive.
