1/6 222 not so good off road, so traded her in for a 1/6 M5A1 Stuart light tank instead - nicer

Re: My next tank - 1/8 Tiger I
Hi Chaps
My 1/8 tiger is finished
"Sadie" was built to a superlative standard by Heer Spencer in 3 days
"Sadie" has everything, pyro recoiling gun option, smoke genny added at the last minute (really pumps out the smoke
) and the best hand applied zimmerit coating I have ever seen
Will be picking up the coolest
Tiger in all the land on Tuesday 25th, day before my birthday...
To say I am excited
would be somewhat of an understatement

Hi Steen
Are you still O.K. if I send you some video etc. via PM as I can`t seem to upload anything at my end
"Sadie" really does deserve to be seen, words alone do not do her justice
Also could I be cheeky
and send you some video/pics of my 1/6 M5A1 Stuart light tank "Margret II" & new Matorro premium metal edition King Tiger for posting as well
I know it`s a big ask but I would really appreciate it, as would the rest of the site no doubt
Cheers me old mate

Take a look at Lee Thorpe models website, he builds models for Armortek and ships them to the states. He also imports the 1/6 scale Dragon figures.
Re: My next tank - 1/8 Tiger I
A suggestion about your loading ramps, spray auto body undercoating on the ramps will prevent the lose of traction. It once dry will have a nice black finish and be much easier to load your Tiger. If that Tiger ever slips off those ramps you will be sorry.
Give it a try,I'm sure it will improve the traction and allow for a much safer loading. We have used this method on single ramps for motorcycle loading, works well but make sure to allow 48 hrs drying time in the shade,if it dries to fast in sun light it will break off in pieces. Allowing to dry slowly improves the strength and adhesion.

Re: My next tank - 1/8 Tiger I
I have Lee`s website saved and visit this on a regular basis
Herr Sellers is also responsible for my collection of 1/6 Dragon figures, so again, no surprises there
On the subject of Armortek models in general, after having had such a bad experience with the 222 armoured car, I personally wouldn`t touch them with a very long bargepole again
The 222 was a VERY bad piece of design for an R/C model weighing in at 50lb - the steering linkages were so proud of the chassis that off-road performance was nil unless you liked unbending them everytime you hit a pebble, whilst themselves being only 1/10 R/C car parts were totally under-engineered for the job they were supposed to do
The turret would not do a full 360 traverse without eating the wires because of the exposed gearing & to cap matters off the sound system would cut out every 2-3 mins, which was annoying to say the least
My Mark-1-Tank 1/8 Tiger has no such issues - no exposed gearing in the turret to chew wires, a perfect sound system and 100 percent off road capability
And as for the whole "metal is better argument" - total bo
cks I`m afraid - the GRP on my Tiger is (at its thickest point) a good 1.3 inch (33mm) - my 12ft lb full legal limit PCP .22 rabbiting rifle will just bounce off that - so I ask, exactly how tuff do you want your R/C tank to be
Anyhoo, take it easy chaps and keep `em dry
