Hi there,

I used to do a lot with Tamiya 1:10 RC buggy's, have them on sale now, a vintage Hotshot II, Fire Dragon and a Marui Hunter.
When I was younger (now 53) I built many plastic kits like the 1958 Lincoln Continental or the Duesenbergh but static models do not really appeal to me as they have no further function.
And they are not rigid enough to keep for a long time as dust sets in and glue loosens.I do have some metal 1:18 diecast models, the nicest being Christine (1958 Plymouth Fury) with her working headlamps. Oh, well I forgot to mention that I have Märklin digital HO stuff too, from the Kon. Bay. Staatsbahnen to be precise.
When joining World of Tanks, the online tank game 10 weeks ago, I got enthousiastic about tanks specific the German Tiger. So, to commemorate getting my King Tiger and a bit later the
never realised E-75, I decided to buy a 1/16 scale Königstiger with RC onboard. After doing some research into prices of tanks and metal upgrades I decided that going for full option from the start would be the wisest decision, hence the full metal Matorro King Tiger that comes in a nice wooden chest and weighs about 7 kgs, as the upper deck and rear is the only plastic on this model, even the turret is metal. Of course the electronics are not at Tamiya standard, but in Holland this costs as much as a Tamiya kit with plastic wheels, tracks and so forth, so 2 bad, Tamiya. Perhaps I'll throw in Elmod if my perfectionism gets the upper hand, then again there is already a better sound module called the Beier sound module (search Ebay.de) for 130 euros with which the sounds improve remarkably (usb programmable) without throwing the RX 18 and so forth out. You just plug it into the RX 18 and its takes the sound over from there. I landed in this forum looking for a working proportional smoke unit as the pump works remarkably well and aweful loud in the Hl unit as no smoke emerges yet so that's gonna go 1 of these days. The wait is for a proportional model with computer fan which smokes better and operates unnoticed with proportional smoke like te real thing. I'm not an electronics man (ok the Tamiya level is my max) so it will have to be sold ready to plug into the RX 18.
As you see I replaced the toy antenna for a Wehrmacht copy; I repainted the tank and put on ordered decals for the 505 Schw. Panz. Division Übungsgelände Poland, 1944 with the red knights on the turret.
Next step is making the rear mud flaps move, I already bought 1.2 mm nuts and bolts and mini joints to realise that, as the fixed ones hamper the driving action on steep slopes etc.
Beats me why Matorro forgot that as Tamiya made them movable.
Soon I'll get zimmerit for the metal turret from a Tamiya builder who hates the stuff; then that error will be corrected, too. For the rest a very good detailed model with enough power in it and the feels of a real tank (heaven, no 65 tons, lol) Next week I'm going for a Tiger I and already decided for the 90% metal Taigen Advanced Metal with has already zimmerit in the right places and a very nice paintjob, I will have to check the colours for the fitting Panzer division but with a little luck I can stick the green knights on the turret which will look awesome next to the Königstiger. It depends if I will be going foor a GW Tiger and Jagdtiger as well, we'll see!

Hi again,

Hereby my e-mail request for more info to Mathias Lickel, the Ebay.de shopkeeper for RC tanks and tank supplies;
then you can look a bit further at the site of Beier Electronics for all details and sound and video regarding the matter.
I hope you can read German as well (as sergeant of a German 3-tank squad, you should, LOL!)
Here is the direct link to the Beier sound Moduul, fitted for the RX18 as fitted in most RC 1:16 tanks. They can provide sounds for a range of German Panzers, like the newer Leopard I, but also the Panther I & II, Tiger I&II and even the Sherman. It saves a minimum of 200 euros form the ELMOD solution where the RX18 is dumped and all the other electronics as well
(except the electro motors of course). You also hook ik into your PC via USB 2.0 and you can order a CD with sounds as an extra, furthermore downloadable upgrades are free from the website from Beier Electronic.de.

Kind regards,

Bram

http://www.licmas-tradinghouse.de/produ ... nther.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

(fasle answer as Heng Long, Matorro and WSN/Trumpeter all use the same technic, for the newer models also the RX 18 Platine.

viele grüße,

matthias lickel
