A bit more progress now the holiday season is over:

Suspension arms primed and re-installed

Sprocket and primed wheels installed

Tyres fitted

Idler & Green wheels & tyres fitted

This is the colour scheme I want to achieve and I have a question:

Do you think the colours are red oxide primer, dunkelgelb 7028 & dunkelgrun 6003 or is the red oxide primer actually Rotbraun 8017? For now I have left the red as red oxide primer but that can change.

Thanks Antony

Hi,
I like the Hetzer very much, but do I understand that the company has now stopped making them ??....also the holes that you have drilled and added nuts and bolts to...please can you tell me what size they are ?? M1 or M1.5 ?

Hi Alb,

Yes BKA are no more unfortunately.

I used 8BA nuts & bolts on the wheels and I've also got some 8BA wing nuts on order so all the spare track holders etc will be working.

Decided to change the base colour using Tamiya TS3 cans and test fit the tracks.

Still got to fix the sprocket hub and then start on the other side. I'm hoping to get the chassis rolling under it's own power by next Sunday as we have a tank meet scheduled. If I do I'll post a video.

Update (As they say on "Unsolved Mysteries")

Finally got the Hetzer tracks on after all the wheels were painted. Really nice to flip the Hetzer over and see it roll on it's tracks. Next will be the motion pack but that will after to wait until next weekend.

Dont know how I missed this, but your Hetzer is a beauty and your doing a fine job with the Build/paintwork.   What sort of motors and power supply do you intend to use ? Would love to see a video of this running.

Hi Steiner,

I'm going to use 2 x 975D1041 - (4.5v - 15v) - RATIO 104:1 Drill Motors. These are £42.00 each so not too much.

Image

I've also got 2 x Electonize Speed Controllers powered by a 24 volt battery.

As soon as it's working I'll post a video of the Hetzer running. Then I'll start on the super detailing the top.

Thanks Antony

Hi
The Hetzer is looking really good and what a great paint job and work on the wheels and tracks. It's going to be a very nice model indeed and I'll look forward to seeing the work on the top.

Now to a more modest Hetzer. I had a root in the garage and dug out my own fibreglass moulds for my Hetzer. These are the fibreglass plugs from my original mould and now I can mould on the inside of them to create ine. I've trimmed the bottom half of the mould so it's not as painful to handle as the top mould. A winter project although I remember saying that last yr!!
