HL King Tiger track Durabiity?

Post by Glen B »

I have a question for anyone who has received their HL King Tiger; how are the tracks, do they look reasonably durable?

I am asking because I think I read somewhere that some other brands of KT'1/16 scale r/c's have or had track issues.

Hi,
Tracks seems to be ok even its plastic. However, metal tracks looks better and gives a better weight to the tank when driving in terrain

I believe this has been a Matorro King Tiger with the track issue,I have the latest version and will be doing a review in the next day or so. The same shipping issues continue, but I will outline the issues in the review and will include disassembly and reassembly of this King Tiger version.

Thanks

I thought that i read that the Matoro had some problems.

IRC, I read somewhere that the Tamiya KT (possibly and older version) had problems with tracks or wheels, but this may not be correct.

I thought I'd check this out since the next HL, which may be a KY, Panther G or Jagdpanther will be getting an SLU and 3:1's, for IR battles, I don't want to drop that stuff in something and find out it has problems. Hopefully. the KT does not. I have a good track record with my Panther and JP.

The Tamiya King Tiger I have are indoor or side walk tanks, the tracks are fragile, but the wheels were terrible, very unstable unless the bearing mod is preformed, the track tensioning system as designed leaves a lot to be desired.

My Jagdpanther(HL) has metal tracks and the tensioner modification,I need to post the modifications I have just completed to this system, the axles are retained by a grub screw,it has come loose for the last time, using tubing for bushings and a nylon washer between the hub and the tensioner arm I TAPPED the arm to receive the bolt which now acts as the axles inside the tubing used as a bushing.
