Cheers caddyshack, its taking its time lol :D .
Nearly finished the main tank stuff, may do a tad more weathering in time but pretty much all done. Lighting is rubbish atm so Il get a pic in the morning.
A couple things I been working on whilst taking my time with painting. Continueing the HL Pershing .50cal, I cut this rough shape from some card looking at reference pics to make the box around ammo tin;

Image

(right side a little big). Cut up the ammo tin so just the sides left, made a new bottom and ends to accommodate the 9mm length of the rounds, painted then added Tam decal. With a strip of masking tape made a belt for the rounds then stuck above shape together and painted;

Image

Added rounds into box and mounted on the .50;

Image

Its not the best or most accurate but was cheap and quick to get! Not too bad looking, Im pleased with the outcome :D
Finaly removed the masking tape from the wheels (been on nearly a month), put on tracks after a little weathering and had a drive. Easy to notice the suspension isnt strong enough so will have to stretch out the springs soon. Anyhow will update tomorrow morn, cheers 8|

So naturally a very dark morning, cloads start to clear around noon ans sun shines, but as quicly as that it tips it down 8O :( . Finally stops raining a little while ago so I got in there before the light totaly faided!

But to start some of my progress whilst waiting, I wanted the commander to have a helmet on but knew crew wore the tanker hat underneath. I requested Nickmow to make a mould similar to the 21st C one and it looks great, I cut up accordingly so the Tam helmet (I think) would fit over as appears;

Image

Helmet top left (duh :O ) removed section top right, whats left bottom.....left and moulded hat bottom right.
I painted this and fixed to helmet inner near bottom, look closely at commander in next pics (will do better pics with all details when properly finished).

Image

(the '30' in yellow circle took ages to do :S and isnt perfect but close enough)

Image

Image

Got a couple little details for stowage left so will update with nicer pics soon hopefully. Cheers guys :D

Thought Id get a better pic of the commander helmet/hat so here;

Image

Not the neatest I know but looks ok, perhaps possible for moulding? :O
Some final touches yesterday and today, started doing the periscopes and took some method pics;

Image

So made shape on left with two bits of clear styrene (1mm thick) and 2mm strip of 1mm thick white, then covered ends with paper. Each flat dimension is around 10mm wide and 14mm long, its a rough assumed scale down but is quite close.
Then painted as shown on right leaving a 'lense', cut out the OD green shape from card to wrap around, its 10 by 5mm with a notch out for the slide lever thing which was later added made from a couple mm length of cocktail stick and painted. All above put together and inserted into gap;

Image

Another thing I did today was this;

Image

Made from ice lolly sticks with 1.5mm scale rope on ends. Shells are from Nickmow and are lovely, I think that is correct colour added to right end?
Cheers guys 8| Dave

Hmmm, it seems the Sherman has not been well over the hols and has a growth;

Image

Anyone know what it could be? (probably too obvious :/ )

And a little mod to get the correct wheels of the Grizzly/early Sherms, thanks to nickmow and his hard work casting the buggers :D

Image

Toying with attaching original Mato tyres 'cos I like the markings but may just leave as is.
Cheers, Dave
