Help choosing first tank

Post by TankRookie »

Hi
I'm considering buying a small (1/35th or 1/24th) rc tank preferably a Sherman and quite well detailed, sounds preferable and realistic movement.
What vendors and brands would be suggested?

Hi
Personally, I would go for a 1/16th scale or bigger tank. Anything smaller and you would not get realistic running. It would look like a toy. Just my opinion!!!

Bigger the better I always think. Obviously your budget will be a factor also.

Thanks.
I'm interested in the smaller models at the minute. I found the Tamiya 1/35 scale Sherman during my searches but still looking for a decent vendor in the UK (hopefully) to buy they kit and paints etc.

I've found the 2.4ghz 1/35 sherman on tamiya-models.co.uk for £174.15. Ebay wasn't much better and most other model sites which sold tamiya models only do 1/16 scale
Any suggests of any other rc model sites which stock the 1/35 sherman?

Finally went for the HL Panzer III 1/16 from Forgebear. I've read the gears need wearing in and greasing so that is the first job.
I don't have the setup for airbrushing or "know how" so probably going to do some weathering and detailing.
