Early Tiger 1 no*3818

Post by stevie_hendo »

hi there im new to tanks, but not atall new to rc stuff, problem is i used to do nitro rc kits not electricals so some stuff im familiar with and some im not, this threads gonna be on my tiger 1 no*3818
ive been interested in the rc tansk for ages but never got one until now, thought id treat myself but its my first one so a heng long being the cheaper option,

basically at the moment its 2 days old and my idler wheels are getting sloppy already, my metal tracks have come apart twice, and theres metal filings around the metal gear boxes :( i also had to change the smoker unit today as it was faulty when i got it, unbleievable eh 2 days old but anyhow every hobby has its good and bad bits,
ill upload a few pictures but could anyone tell me is it worth getting the asiatum hull ? and is it hard to cut out the rear vetn latches on the engine bay and to hinge them ? and if so what to use for a hinge, id like to move all my switches up but not all in the turret, as i will be using it in wet weather aswell as dry, also i intend on getting a better battery pack for it and quick charger as the one i recieved iwth the tank takes 4 hours to charge and lasts 20 minutes ! my charger also sparks and stuff when you touch it aswell as getting extremely hot !

ahh thats not too bad then, but anyhow unfortunately today i was going to have a shot of the tank, but after a full charge of the battery last night, and a quick fire up to check my new smoke generator, it wont even fire up today ? headlights just flash but the tank wont do anything ? any ideas :(

1st port of call would be transmitter, receiver crystals..they have a habbit of not connecting as they should. try bending the pins a little on both.

thanks, im sorry for me too haha i have no luck with anything, but nomatter what rc car/ship/boat/tank etc you buy thers niggles it was the same with all my previous rc kits, i contacted the people i bought it from as its still in warranty i think lol 3 days ?

but as for saving up, im 19 and in the middle of saving for my cars respray and mot then i have my expensive 19 year olds insurance to think about lol so i really have better things to do with 700 pounds :/

ive been into the rc stuff since i could walk though so im sure if i persevere it will turn out right, im good at all the annoying trouble shooting and stuff, i really think one of the boards or something in the tank has just died or something if im honest as its constantly making a noise from the speaker which tells me its trying to do something, but not something i want it to do ! its stripped at the moment, so i hope i get the spares sent out to me this week and see if i can get it up and running again, ill keep all informed, but if anyone else has experienced this please speak up lol would save alot of time ! im going to put alot of time and effort into this model as i did with many others, im already planning a small area in my workshop for some sand dirt small trees rocks and buildings to use the tank and to take photos of it ! :D

yay found the problem guys, the board had moved and the crystal wasnt even going into it, it was going into the plastic that surrounds the actual part the crystal is ment to go into
