Kelly's Heroes Tigers

Post by nautyboy »

Following on from his hillarious "Operation Hollywood Part One: The Battle of the Bulge", in which he 'converted' a Patton into a Tiger EXACTLY as depicted in that cronky old film (not that hard, as it was primarily a paint-job, he tells me), my old oppo Yosuke has a new project in mind.

Inspired by Sparks' lovely Sherman, he has decided that he must offer up Karl-Otto Alberty's Tiger from the film, and this is where the call for help goes out.

Basic web-work has revealed the basics (Scratch-built - and madly compressed - hull on a T34 chassis) and we have the basic bits together, as well as the DVD. However, if anyone has any secret knowledge or close-up piccies of said tank to share, I am sure Yosuke would be very happy to receive them.

Though, he is not sure if he should model it as still in the hands of the original crew, or as bought by Oddball and co. :haha:

Now, you three; calm yourselves down. I'm not above putting all three of you across my knees. kids!

Now, to keep this on topic - The hull machine gun in Kelly's does not really look like an MG34. I assume it was a handy MG42 they had lying about (or Spanish knock-off). Would that be right?
