Drive axles too short.

Post by Tankbear »

Got my Tiger 1, Asiatam hull, metal drive sprockets, HL metal gearbox.

Fitted Mato gearbox using supplied mounting plate and the drive sprockets now touch hull so rubs and the tracks have a noticable kick in them when getting to the drive sprocket.

Am I missing something obvious? apart from having to drill and tap mounting plate so gearbox further apart (although I think holes too close to original so might not be possible) or put a spacer on the shaft and using a longer bolt I cant think of anything else.

Sorry to hear that Tankbear..it makes you kind of mad when 2 products don't go togeather. But am sure you will find a way round it..
May be that spacer mod of yours might save the day.
All the best with the build .

Cheers guys, I had a break for some food and then went back to solve it, went the washer route.

Now for some reason one of the gearboxes has a sticky point so not free running :-< these things do test us.

Anyway will run for a while to see if frees itself up, if not I be taking out of the tank and running in again.
