Just a comment about the grub screws,I removed them all one at a time and lubricated the threads with a graphite lube,this prevent the rounding and allows the grub screws to seat without stretching the thread, beyond that tapping the control arms has worked very well for me.

Update.
Used the long wheel axle bolts supplied with the kit. Tried cutting done HL bolts but was too loose.
As said needed to file down the plastic wheels by a few mm to suit metal suspension arms. Also found with the axle bolts if I just secured the back half of the wheel plus the trimming their fit.
then just push front half over which actually fit.
Still need to do some fine adjusting tightening grub screws etc so will take shots to help explain.

The smoker can't fit between these 'boxes , but meh , there's plenty of room elsewhere - you do have to remove the front angled armour 'lip' from the HL top end - a new bracket holds the top on via two captive hex screws on the underside . A very solid bit of kit . Softish suspension can be 'tweaked' just like the Tiger .
Not too fussed about the smoker location as I've already moved it to try rig up the proper exhaust outlets.

Took some pictures to help others wanting to use the HL plastic wheels. Although I found this worked for me I’m sure thereares other methods also.
First off I filed down the back of the plastic wheel where it meets the suspension arm.
Sorry about the out of focus pictures, the camera kept focusing on the wheel not axle. But what I’m trying to show is I’ve removed enough so the long axle pin, all the flat section is out. When pushed through only the back part of the wheel.


Few pictures of them installed.


Then the fronts just push over them. Might need to paint the axle ends black as the silver sticks out like a saw thumb.
Also found as the smoker was lower and offset to one side the pipes wasn’t long enough. So drill/enlarged the holes in the back plate and pushed pipes in there.

The smoke effect is miles better, although oil filling is more involved.

just a question what amount did you trim off the inner hubs ,for the wheels to line up

Not much , half a millimeter is enough ( .020" ) the stub shoud end up 6mm long . - the outer end was reduced to 8mm long , about 1.25mm ( .050") to come off . By doing that the std 'long' axles can be used .

* The metal idler was also narrowed - ending up 20.25 mm thick ( i don't remember it's original size )

I just filed away the side in contact with the suspension arm. Probably a few mm.
Key is remove enough so you can secure the axle and have good wheel alignmnet. i.e. straight line between drive sprocket and rear idle wheel and four wheels which run between the track teeth.
Or more trial and error.

If anybody needs axle and wheel set for asiatam hull I have a spare set. Bought mine from rctank.de with asiatam hull fitted but changed my wheels to metal. So full set of plastic wheels with axles for asiatam hull available.
