I am gradually switching all my models over to 2.4ghz. Has anyone else done this with tanks?
Would it be hard?
Has anyone converted to 2.4ghz?
Re: Has anyone converted to 2.4ghz?
I have done this with my Tamiya Tiger 1, it is not difficult at all and works very well. The Tx is a Planet T5 with a very small reciever.

Cool. I am glad some people have already done it. Any links to a thread? I am using heng long tanks, so they may be different to elmod and tamiya

I converted my Heng Long Tiger to run on 2.4 ghz (Spektrum), using Elmod and it was easy. Well easier than wiring up one of my helis!

My last couple of Tamiya's have been on 2.4ghz, I would think its just a matter of changing the Rx in the tank
( once you have the Tx of course
I have the Futaba 7c.

Do'nt know if the R X18 can be connected with different receiv er?
Great thing about converting to Futaba 7C is you can run up to 10 models from one radio although you do need receivers.
I have a Jamara 2.4 4 chanel with receiver going cheap if anybody wants to make an offer.

Hi,
Personally I don't like 2.4Ghz. Whilst it may be less susceptible to interferance (though I suspect many of the cases of "interferance" on 40Mhz are caused by poor radio/aerial installations) it does cause it, particularly to those modellers who use remote cameras on their models.
I have a cam mounted in my Panther. Not one of the cheap ones available on Fleabay but a 12 channel Tx/Rx setup with sound. I was recently running with 2 other models which were on 2.4 Ghz and all 12 channels were completely wiped out.
