LED tail light

Post by Tankbear »

Want to install a LED tail light into my KV1.

Bought this http://www.welshdragonmodels.co.uk/tank ... -875-p.asp from Welsh Dragon Models.

Can I just wire this in parallel with headlight?

I don't see any problem , the headlight circuit is only 2.5v . ( I'm just going to reuse the Airsoft LED on mine 'cos i'm a tightwad ;D )
to the bouncy room ! Yay !

Cheers Blimp.

Got the LED, piece of paper with it saying must be used with resistor but doesn't even mention what voltage it is.

Anyway tried it (before reading this) and it worked.

Should have given the resistor with it. Probably because it would work better with elmod which has extra lighting sockets with resistors. I also used the red led that was fitted to the mg. Put one of the bright lights from the headlights in the mg and fitted yellow to the headlights. You could chance just connecting and see what will happen.

Here is my homemade convoy light.

You will notice one wire attached to the LED is longer. There is a + and -. it matters which resistor is fitted to. You can get lots of LEDs on ebay and they are usually supplied with appropriate resistor.
