Heng Long Jagdtiger-Why so cheap???

Post by big ned »

Hi Guy's,

This appears a cheap buy to me, so why's that? Are these tanks poorly made or just not close to the real thing, like the Pantiger they produced a while back?

Is it really a Heng Long or Matorro? I've heard their motors are weak and the gear boxes are pretty crap too. Finally, can the tracks, hull, and motors be upgraded, and is it worth it?

I know there's no such thing as a free lunch in this game, so what am I missing here? All replies are very welcome!

Regards, Ned.

um.. in a nut shell...

is a very poor attemp at the JD .. its 34 mm too short ...... the hull sides are in two angles ...( the turret is a differebt angle to the hull sides )
the orof is too shot and way too narrow

the list goes on and on ... its just a undersized hull top poped on the a king tiger chassis ...and a poor kingtiger chassis at that

The Heng Feng is a new upper mated to the lower Matorro King Tiger Chassis.

Note Heng Feng are not Heng Long.

The tanks run well enough, gear boxes are OK but the electronics can fail, similar in build quality to a RX13 or WSN. Upgrade options are non-existent for the drive train. Although you should be able, with a little modification, be able to fit the Heng Long King Tiger lower chassis to it and that will open up all your options for you.

Alternatively, you can purchase the Torro branded metal lower chassis.

Price wise each vendor sets their own, while that particular price is on the low side, it is not too low, if you know what I mean.
It is never just "one" tank!

hi , new member here ...just recived a heng feng jagdtiger ! .. not a bad model but not to scale .. build quality is not great but most things from china need a little improvement ! ... mine arrived with a broken rear idler which caused the track to fall off ! .. and then the idler shaft fell out ! ... gun elevation u/s as well .. and this is new .. hummm its a good model but if you want a accurat model its not brilliant ...still like it though ! any one else got one ?

Hi,

I bought one from Howes models in the summer, it is a little more rough than HL but ok. I have plans to get a king tiger in metal kit form and simply replace the tops so two for one. It does need some work but that is the point is it not. I have an Elefant to complete first which is squirilled away for my kids to give to me for christmas........ as a suprise.

I built my Jagdtiger 3 years ago its in the masterclass section of this site one of the designers from Mato was a member on here as well. I used artistic licence when I done my Jagd they have made the same features on theirs if they had asked I would have been honored they wanted to use it as a bases for theirs I would have probably asked for a free copy though.
