Matorro King Tiger quality control

Post by jukebox »

Hi, I recently received my Matorro King Tiger, with a few quality control issues..........

1] All the spare track links are missing
2] One set of inner road wheels is missing the hub/axle cover
3] This is the best one, the turret controls work the wrong way round! Push the turret control right the turret rotates left! D'oh! I'll fix that when/if I've received the spare track links the vendor says they are going to send ( ) and can risk splitting the tracks to dismantle the hull.

Detail is good and everything else works as expected, including the poor sound, weak motors, slow turret rotation......but never mind, I'll run it as is for now until I've finished my HL Tiger 1 mods then I'll start on modding the King Tiger in a similar vein, nothing too extreme I keep telling myself, "just" a metal hull, idlers, sprockets, tracks, gearboxes, road wheels.......

Hi, my wife bought it for me  from an ebay seller, "soundbugs", which is the ebay shop for Toyzcastle.co.uk.

Hi Chris, great looking tank, I've read your build posts (and lots of others!) and you guys are an inspiration to newcomers like me! Good tip on selling all the Matorro stuff and buying the upgrades, only 16 days to payday......

Hi, no problem, I won't disagree with you but domestically it is easier to justify the incremental upgrades for a HL or Matorro than the capital outlay for a Tamiya, even if the total cost is pretty similar! :shh:

Good luck with your KT, they are awsome tanks!

That's a shame... I bought my first tank from them just a couple of weeks ago and immediately ran in to some problems (see my thread for info) so didn't hesitate to get in touch. I emailed them and have so far had quick and helpful replies; they've said they're going to send me a new battery to see if a duff one was my problem and although I haven't received it yet I've not had any reason to doubt them. Not so far at least.

Maybe their email and telephone support is different? If you've got the invoice number and stuff it might be worth emailing them. The address I've been having correspondence with is soundb_eww5855sez@members.ebay.co.uk

Hope this might help and I hope you get the tank sorted eventually

This seems to be a tactic with them, delay only benefits their position with PayPal and the complaint process.

Chris your King Tiger is a fine example of what can be done with the Chinese Tanks, really excellent work.

As for this vendor,Maybe they will respond in a positive manner.

King Tiger broken and faulty. 4 months and a paypal complaint to rectify. The person you will talk to is friendly, helpful but they are severely let down by support and logistics. You would be better processing a refund as soon as possible in all honesty.
It is never just "one" tank!
