Hi Guys ,Have been thinking again .Here is the thought,A spektrum DX6I with 6 channel reciever conected to a Sherman DMD/MF unit ,(everybody knows it dosnt do recoil)But here is my thought,if you set up the DX6I using say channel 5 to a recoil unit ,then set up the transmiter to mix the channels, so that when you fire left stick up it operates channel 5 to recoil.
Am I barking mad or is this possible,I set up the DX6I to operate the main gun by flicking the gear stick,all the work is in the set up of the transmiter.
Anyone out there with a Standard sherman a DX6I and a servo want to try it.if you can set the servo to move as the gun fires you have a recoil for the sherman with out having to buy a Pershing MF unit.

Sounds like it could work, I've already done mine the expensive way
Still think the main problem to get round is finding the space to fit everything in the turret.

Pete,ever see how the Creeping Death recoil worked? He used a servo,and the VS airsoft with the limit switch. The firing would make the connection and the servo would pull the barrel back,the when the gun finish the limit switch would open and a spring collar arrangement would push the barrel back out.
The same collar had a short cable with a simple clevis connected to a lever arm on the servo,then when the limit switch closed the servo powered and pulled the barrel back. One the pellet fired the limit switch opened the contact and the spring pushed the barrel out.
The one smart thing about this was the space needed,the servo did not have to work directly in-line and pulling a flexible cable was possible with out the need to push the barrel back out. The one issue was the spring being strong enough to push pull the cable and servo arm back 90deg.
I still have the bushing,it's a Boston bronze bushing with a narrow lip on one end,he drilled this for the cable connection. Just an idea,might help the mechanical part of the system
