hi all does anyone know where you can get in tank charger plugs that fit the tamiya
type battery plugs, one you could screw down if possible

What you fitting it in Ice most would just hot glue in place.

got a deans connecter in the dog for external charging these can be glued into place and dont have the retaining arm to lift and just pull straight out

The deans connecter method is by far the neatest but if you are
sticking with the tamiya connectors just cut the retaining arm off.

personally like the deans as they dont wear out inside or push back when connecting like the tammy ones do

i get mine from my local hobby store
just look for deans connectors most good rc shops may stock them
