quiet sound effects

Post by panzerfahrer »

Hi experts, my heng long tiger 1 has developed a problem, the sound effects have gone quiet in fact i can only here the machine gun with the volume turned up to max, and its very quiet at that, the engine "start and run" sound doesn't work at all, although you still have to press the start button and wait the usual few seconds, before it will move, ( but no sound) and also the main gun sound doesn't work, but the tank still recoils when its pressed. ANY IDEAS ?

Pinched wire on the volume control? Loose socket on the RX18 board? But that's all,if their is any sound it would indicate the issue is within the connections or the volume control. Start at the speaker and work your way back, possibly you will resolve the issue finding a loose connection.

Also I did not mean to jump the gun, have you opened the Tank as of yet? Probably not,so if you need help with this no problem but it does involve a bit of a hassle, and removing the tracks. The good news is the tank is well built but you will be opening it up sooner or later anyway. Saxondog

Hi Saxondog, "have I opened it"! its stripped out completely, I have recently covered the hull and turret in milliput (modelling putty) and given it a going over with a tool i made to simulate Zimmerrit , an old motor gear on a bent wire, (a bit like a paint roller) gives a great affect. anyway yes its apart, i had all the mechanics and electrics wired up on the bench, it was working fine, rebuilt the turret turned over the barrel binnacle (they are round the wrong way) and fitted it to the hull top, all still good, left it a few days, to tired after work "you know how it is" im not 20 anymore, went back to it two nights back and no sound, now is it possible i shorted the battery wires or touched them on the circuit board (they were bare) i didnt notice if i did, but this is the only thing i can think of, things dont break on there own. by the way it is the old open circuit board not the rx18. Off the subject, your name Saxondog, is that derived from the rock group SAXON?
