Hi I have recently purchased and assembled my first Tamiya tank (King Tiger). After a few teething problems I have got it up and running, all apart from the main gun.
The model shop I purchased it from advised me to purchase a Futaba 6ex remote control. The person in the shop who sold it to me and knows about the tank is now on holiday for a week. I would be very greatful if anyone can tell me how to fire the main gun using this device?
The right stick when pushed forward moves the tank forward and the right stick pushed backwards moves the tank backwards. When the right stick is pushed North West the tank moves right (forward) and when the right stick is pushed North East (forward) the tank moves to the left. To go back right it is South East and back left South West. To me this seems correct.
On the left stick when pushed up it raises the main gun and when pushed down lowers the main gun. When the left stick moves right the turret moves to the right and when the left stick is pushed left the turret moves left. This is perfect to me.
The machine gun is operated by the throttle cut button - this is fine for me. I have tried so many different ways of moving the sticks to try to fire the main gun, I have even tried to change the digital trims without success. I have also tried what is says in the Tamiya manual but have been unsuccessful with this aswell.
Another problem is on the left stick when I move it up or down, it doesn't have a spring back action like the right hand stick does. Can this be rectified?
I'm sorry that my first posts are about asking for help but I am new to Tamiya tanks and have just found this forum.
Many thanks
Steve

Re: Tamiya King Tiger Futaba 6ex Help
Hi Steve,
It sounds like your Futaba is set at mode 2, I always set mine to operate so the left stick is throttle, forward to go forward, back to go back, and the right stick for steering.
Does the 6EX have digital trims ? The main gun should fire by moving the right forward/back trim fully forward then quickly moving the stick forward.
You can buy extra springs and fit them into the transmitter, if you need more info on this, PM me and I will reply with more detail.

Another way to try is when you program the elevation only move the stick up and down halfway of its travel that way when you push stick all the way up it will fire main gun and when all the way down will fire mg .

Hi Thanks for your replys
yes the trims are digital Sparks
however if i move the digital trim all the way forward the tank starts to move forward when in full on the display (+ 120) if you do it the other way ( the tank really roars if you move the trim (-120) when you move the stick backwards
yes you are right it says channel 2 on display
do i re set on another channel? mind you would the same problem be there if i did anyway?
great about the springs by the way i be in touch
speak soon
