Matt's tanks

Post by matthewpeter »

thought I'd post a couple of pictures of my two Tigers. Both are modified Heng Long's. I did 111, S15 was bought off eBay simply because I liked its repaint!

111 has a practically completely rebuilt chassis, with strengthening chassis rails and metal suspension. I stopped short of fitting metal wheels as costs were mounting up :haha: I weathered the body and lengthened the gun barrel, fitting replacement headlights and a blinking MG at the same time (saw a tank with one of these when I was small at a show and had to do it ;) ).

S15 is practically stock non S&S but has been resprayed and fitted with odd little details here and there. The weight difference between the two is quite high! Whoever repainted it did a good job. One day I will fit proper proportional RC to it.

apologies for the duff photo's, for some reason Photobucket doesn't like these ones.

certainly, here you go. Its due for an overhaul, its suffered a bit in the last couple of years. Smoke canister lauchers have been repaired countless times, I'm going to replace them with brass ones. The spare track link at the front has not survived well either from slightly enthusiastic driving! I also want to put brass 4 to 1 boxes in and "eventually" El Mod it!

Nice Tigers Matt - good to see a couple of grey ones !!

I like the lived in look of 111 - soon be as good as new - but at least youu are driving them - not sticking them on a shelf !!

yes it will be nice to improve it further. Having read the recent on El Mod I have rather gone off the idea, the words "blown up boards" seem to feature heavily. The RC Command board looks promising.
