Which airbrush?
Re: Which airbrush?
Ha Ha good idea Von kraftwerk could even make money with all the mum's on the school run.
Gonna go for it, looking forward to start. One thing for sure is I'm gonna take my time and listen to the advice of you guys. Already been reading some of your posts and I'm amazed at the results that can be acheived.
Many Thanks

You can also do all over spray tans. I offered the service to some of my girlfriends pretty friends.

Re: Which airbrush?
This is how the tank works with the compressor.
The ACS-AS186 has a 3.0 Litre air tank, which has its pressure maintained automatically by the compressor itself. Once it has reached the maximum output pressure of around 57 PSI it will shut off automatically. Only when the airbrush is triggered and the tank pressure falls below around 50 PSI does it restart. Think it gives a smoother flow of air also and since compressor is not constantly in operation it heats up less.

Thanks for all the info Johnf without people like you around offering your knowledge I don't think I'd get very far at all.
Also I'm now starting to see ALL the benefits of learning to airbrush!
By the way love the look of your Tiger 1 it's huge.

Re: Which airbrush?
Got an airgun to attach to the compressor for that one. I'm quite new to airbrushing also but if you need help send a pm. Experimentation is important. Setting pressure on the compressor and regulating airflow and paint flow on the brush. Not too difficult though. I practiced on my 1/16 tiger. Cleaning is also important. Even during painting sessions.

Re: Which airbrush?
I agree with John f, experiment, after a while you get the paint to thinners ratio sorted and the air pressure, try out on junked models get some old plastic toys, saves messing up expensive models, and time you've put in,paint is cheaper, and John your Tiger is super!l the extra effort is paying off,by the way how well did the spray tan offer work out.can I come and watch your work and pick up a few tips,

Re: Which airbrush?
Don't worry I have no intention of going near my tank with the airbrush until I'm confident at using it. In the mean time to practice the kids toys are gonna be getting a makeover!

Re: Which airbrush?
Did you get an airbrush yet???/ If so, which one?
Re: Which airbrush?
I have and I chose to follow Johnf advice and get the one he showed me. It ment that I had to do some more overtime, both at work and at home to sway the missus, but I think it's going to be worth it in the end as these guys know what their talking about.
I am still getting to grips with how to use it and to get the results that I'm after, plenty of toys to practice on in my house though and the kids love to get a new paint job on their cars.
In the mean time I'm doing some hand painting on my Panzer III and following advice from other threads about how best to weather and add some mud to the tank.

Re: Which airbrush?
I know it's a bit late for this reply, and I cant comment on the compressor, but I do have one of these airbrushes which I use for just about everything, even in preference to my simair which cost a lot more. My daugher has even taken to using it for her college artwork and finds it very controlable, I may have to buy her one for her own use. Enjoy your airbrushing, it opens up a whole range of opportunities.
