I'm a little afraid of that stuff too,you have to be careful, and patient with drying time,no you know what you're doing'and yours looks like the bovvy one,I did an Iraqi T-72 and had loads of green coming through copied from a pic that showed about 20% of the sand paint had wore off, tell me to shut up,that would wrong on your baby!I've seen quite a few Iraqi afvs and that is very good desert used look you've done there, hats off to you!

theres a ' scrapper ' in the Reme workshops in bovy ..its a chineese type69ii with the bar armour round the turret ... and i look at her a few days ago ..for at least two hours .. took pics and measurment.. i wounder why ?...any way the sand paint applyed in patches to break up the green ... whcih is a different green to the russian green ! .... but the sand paint .. was well and truly worn off .. infact i have been told the sand paint applyed to some tanks was emolsion paint .. like form B&Q ... dulux ! ... lol.. and that is by no menas a tuff paint .....

with who had this type 69 served, its not surprising that emulsion gets used,a bit like winter white,I believe the British Army use paint that is removable peelable, even the green and black, there is an airbourne land rover near me and the camo has lifted and is peeling off by itself leaving new looking factory finish showing through,I think these observations make for better models.

Looking good. I am going to have to try that technique on the next tank that I paint!
