HL RX 18 busted?

The crystals worked until i put the old receiver board in so they definitely matched but thank you for the suggestion as sometimes it can be little things like that. I did buy the parts from Forgebear, i highly recommend him. I only use the 1-3 frequencies as i heard the same thing as wibblywobbly. I think the crystals came in today but i have to pick them up from the post office so i will definitely know tomorrow.

Right, tried the crystals and still the same thing. I guess the only thing left is maybe the transmitter. I am out if ideas on this one guys, any suggestions?

I think everything has been covered but if this lot doesnt work check the transmitter they do fail at times,
there's loads of people like me and dave selling parts on ebay wether you just want crystals, leads (without buying the whole rx unit) or receivers etc there are good traders & bad so be carefull & read the recomended sellers list

I don't see it can be the transmitter since it works with the other RX18/ receiver setup. I've sent you a PM.

Finally I'm happy to report that the Tiger is back! It looks that it was the opposite, the original crystals shorted the other transmitter board (i didn't know it was possible). I put in a new receiver board and the tank started up. Thanks to all for the help especially Forgebear.

thanks rob the rec boards are sensitive to a big charge and it will knock them out have done this myself lol

Definitely happy now. Dave, I have to say that i learned quite a bit from this experience. I think i will be a lot more confident now with any future issues and it really helps having guys like you around.
