new infra red pz4 question

Post by percy1510 »

Hi everyone
just a quick question. I am looking at a PZ 4 on ebay. It is the long barrelled F2 version with rx18 and infra red. It has plastic tracks but the seller is unable to confirm if the model has metal gears. Just wondering if anybody might know if the newer heng long models come with metal gears as standard or do they still have plastic gears like older models. The one I am looking at is a new one but is about £20 cheaper than the ones that armour workshop are selling. Armour workshop do state metal gears but if the one I am looking at already has the gears I could bag a bargain.
thanks

Just got a reply. He gets the tanks direct from heng Long in sealed boxes so does not want to start opening packaging in case I dont buy the tank. I think my best bet is to go for this tank and even if it turns out to have plastic gears I am guessing that a set of metal gears would be £20 or less so will only cost the same as one of the armour workshop models

Agree with Dave here, unless he has a really good returns policy, you absolutely have to check these tanks. .They are far too easily damaged in transit both internally and externally to risk it.

I've got tanks here that came from the factory, Panzer IV's in fact one of them has the front tow eye cracked around the pin and the other has a return roller mount cracked. This is damage caused through assembly at the factory. If I was to sell these new I would imagine it would cause no end of grief.

I understand why he won't though, technically speaking by breaking the seals on the item it does become second hand goods.
It is never just "one" tank!

Thanks for the comments guys. Got my sums wrong. The price difference is £30 so even if it has plastic gears I can add metal ones and still make a saving. If it has metal gears I can use the money saved to get metal tracks from dave. The seller does have a good returns policy and excellent feedback so am going to go for it. Will post again when I have the tank to let you know if all turned out well
