A member ask that we share pictures of our vehicles. I made these by starting with 1/16th scale diecast trucks, mostly from a company called Highway 61. You can see thier 1940ish type trucks frequently on ebay. These were stripped and repainted and some had new bodies built over the frame. Many have cast resin boxes, barrels and other parts added for details. Decals were applied, tightened down with Solvoset and then everything is weathered with chalks and sprayed with Testor's Dullcoat. You can also mix 1/18th scale plastic vehicles with 1/16th very effectively. The first few pix are of a 21st Century Weapons Carrier. That company also made American and German haltracks that look good. In one of my other posts there is a German 88 gun on its carriage setting on the village street, which is also 1/18th. Behind it is a 1/16th resin Pak 40. Last point: These and many of my other shots are taken with the model setting on a diorama that I created specifically for taking pictures. It gives a WWII background and can be used for German or American forces. I feel it really enhances the illusion being shared. PP

Fantastic pics and awesome vehicles!! I have seen a few of these Highway 61 trucks but they are too expensive for me, have seen others modding them like a member called 'flamethrower' and the 'woofer customs' website. I have been trying to make a GMC 353 cargo truck but it is proving difficult. I also have both US and German halftracks from 21st c. toys that I have tried to improve (in 'Other Militray Non-Rc Models' section).
Thanks for your info and pics!! Dave
