Pershing finally in the fight

Post by Yellowshaker »

With danville on around the corner and NEAD getting together for winter battles, I figured it was time to introduce Fireball on the battle field.
I had purchased this tank from an RCU member about a year ago, when I first got into the hobby. It was painted very nice but done in a desert camo scheme. Though it was a great paint job, I decided to model it after a ww2 specific tank. The build thread is here http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_95040 ... tm#9504087" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Anyway, after all was said and done, the tank did not have a battle unit installed. As you can see in the build thread, I did alot of work to the turret and really did not want to have to take it all apart at this point. I decided to try something different that I had read on the DAK site...i think it was an IS-152 build.
I added the IR emmiter to a tube from ETO armor and then CA glued it into the very tip of the muzzle brake. It fits like it was made for it. I then cut the connector off the IR emitter and ran the wires through the barrel (this was not fun, by the way). I added some wire to the end and soldered it, and then connected to the MF unit. The flash fit right behind the emitter tube and is not hindered at all. I tested it against my Tiger and all works very well.
