Hi Folks.
Well I'm a long-term tank obsessive who just hasn't owned one properly yet.
I nearly bought one of the Mark-1-Tank 1/8th or 1/6th monsters some years back but the cost and practical limitations put me off. I then own a Tamia KT for a while but it was when it still had single motor/twin clutch arrangement, so the turning circle was rubbish and I felt it was too fragile and expensive to 'play' with it properly so I got shot.
Playing around with a pair of Forces of Valor 1/24 models that my other half bought for a fun B'day present, reawakened the interest so here I am.
I'm looking for a model that can be fully upgraded to the point where it's a good, reliable runner which can take a bit of stick, so any advice on which HL model does this best would be much appreciated.
All the best
Steve

Hi twelvebears
Welcome to the forum Mate
I'f you want to keep the costs down get a standard HL Tiger 1 for around £65.00 with out postage
or you can pick a used one up for a lot less, then start posting on how best to upgrade.

HI there, welcome to the forum,a H/L Tiger 1 at £65 good tank to start with

Re: Twelvebears reporting for duty!
Welcome to our forum, I have to say out of the box runner Jagdpanther/Panther"G" with metal drive. But for a solid built heavy tank it would be an Asiatam Tiger, Metal tracks, sprockets and idler wheels, metal road wheels either version and Metal Gearbox of which their are many.
On another note Dave's a good man, so is Steve at Welshdragon. Both these vendors have proven their professional. And are always available."So you have taken the first step into a brighter world" Have fun, enjoy the forum, cheers Sax

Hi Twelvebears
Welcome to the forum mate, i'm new to all of this myself and as Fynsdad mentioned contacting Dave at Forgebear Tanks would be a good place to start. He was a massive help to me and answered all of my many questions and i am now a proud owner of my first 1/16 tank, a HL Tiger which i hope to post on here in the near future once i start to upgrade it.
