Detail painting and pastel usage

Post by Wizzard033 »

Where can I find tips and tricks on using pastels? I used the DAK Painting Guide method to Paint my Tiger I and was pleased with the results but at the end of the tutorial its very vague about detailing and pastel usage and I have purchased some quality pastels but I'm unsure where to begin. ??? :problem:

Hi Wizzard rub the pastels onto some coarse sandpaper, collect the powder and put in a small container. Then using dry paintbrushes you can simulate streaks, highlights and general weathering. When you are happy with the result you can seal it onto the model by spraying it with matt varnish. Pastels should be used after you have applied any decals and washes to a gloss surface that has then been sealed with matt varnish. Hope this helps magmer
