Kuebelwagen Oddball Versions

Post by Saxondog »

Ran across these pictures of some rather odd Kuebelwagens. Thought they were interesting. Saxondog

Would the bottom pic be a "wood gas" conversion with the boiler fitted at the front?

I don't know, maybe a battle field smoker? Just an odd looking machine, but it does favor a boiler of some type.

This I have to build, all my tanks are from Grossdeutschland units but this is so Unique I have to have one. Any idea of a 1/16 scale kit available? Probably not so it will have to be a scratch build. I have seen a large scale VW Beetle, but it was a 1/25 scale. If you know of one please let me know this is just to cool.

That interests me too as I also have a Kubel and swimmwagon in 1/16th. The only problem is I think its a discontinued kit and as rare as rocking horse poo. I have seen some for sale in the US at $70! There are a couple of outlets on ebay that are a tad cheaper but its gonna be worth it if you can get one.

I'm sure there is many a VW Beetle toy knocking around in diecast top/plastic chassis in our 16thish scale that could form a good basis? ???

Found one yet Saxondog? :~
