Bashed down an area in the garden today. Still getting ice build up around the rim of the idlers. Give up. Do'nt want to break anything. Snow up to 10 inches now. Very strange for this country.

Hi All,

Nicely done snow photos everyone.

But words of condolence are due in regards to the heavy snow blanketing the UK and Europe. And in honor of your recent snow storms; this morning; though bitter cold here; and braving my wife's fury; I launched an rc tank assault in the flower beds just off the driveway I don't need to shovel.

:haha: :haha: :haha:

And now for tempting fate, I will spend the rest of the day waiting for the big one (earthquake).

Regards, John

Fleshy, be carefull what you wish for, it might come true, its bloody freezing here.
I think our council should get some old tanks to do the gritting, cos the lorries aren't hacking it.
Hey man....I just ride 'em, I dunno what makes 'em work.

Hi,

Like Fleshy I'm suffering from a lack of the white stuff. We had a little a day or two ago and I was going to give the Gepard a run (only tank I have in winter camo), but by the time I had taken 3 dogs out for a run and broken through the ice on the pond so my koi could breathe I was so damn cold all I wanted to do was get back indoors!

hi , great vid and pics lads ,havent had my tanks out in the snow as its 8 inches , would love to run my 1/6 pIV but its no where near ready , but did spend some time in the shed/workshop halogen heater on full along with the dehumidifier, just as a benchmark the water in the dehumidifier froze, :O so ive started the 1/6 dragon kettenkrad as its small enough for the kitchen table

Here's a quick tip for running a tank in the snow. Either leave it outside, or put it in the fridge, to cool the tracks down to the same temperature as the snow. What causes the clogging is snow melting slightly when it hits the warmer tracks and wheels, when it does this it sticks. If the tanks parts are freezing too then it reduces the effect.

Not my idea, I read this somewhere else last winter.

Thanks Wibblywobbly, that makes sense. I will try that if the snow does'nt melt. You may be able to answer another question. How do you add music track to the elmod blaster. I have music track files. Do i need to put a particular name on the track so that elmod recognises it. I have elmod think tank pro and am using a futaba 7c radio.

It depends on when, or how you want to play the sound.

1. To play the music when starting up, simply merge the music onto the start or end of the start sound. Same for shut down.
2. To play the music when hit, or killed (mine plays the Last Post) simply either add the music to the end of the 'killled' sound, or replace the killed sound with the music.
3. To play it as a seperate sound channel simply add the sound to folder, ensure that the ini file is amended with the file name, run the checker, and hook up the additional leads. I have never pursued this option, but it does explain it in the Elmod instructions which are on the sim card. (or downloadable...but the Elmod site is currently displaying a warning, so it might be wise to ignore that option till they fix the gremlins).
