Cheers John - have emailed Dom this evening. Looking at the TIGER I AIRBRUSH TIKKI + Metal hull + BB unit + HQ Metal tracks...like the look of that!!Johnf wrote:Send them a contact. Tell Dominique that john from Ireland recommended him. Are you thinking about doing a repaint? Lots of good tips on the forum. Beware though, things can get out of hand with upgrades. I have done the full Elmod upgrade on my tiger. I have some video posted. Just waiting for a new radio and receiver set up then I can add more features.
When you add up the extras included with the rctank upgrade compared with s basic Henglong upgraded over time there is a significant saving. These tanks can be quite heavy with metal upgrades. Mine is about 18 lbs and copes well with the weight.
New to RC Tanks - looking for new upgraded tank

Cheers all for the useful advice...it seems Tankzone is to be avoided (and certainly after doing a search of forum!) but will certainly be in touch with forgebear/welshdragon for upgrades/parts, etc. Do I need to buy thinks like track tensioning systems, etc to maintain an RC tank once I buy it??

Re: New to RC Tanks - looking for new upgraded tank
Hi, I started with the Tiki model also. Then completely gutted it. Have a look at my postings on the Tiger. Have some video also. I find RCTANK best for upgrades also. Has vast stock. I broke a part recently. Own fault. Asked Dom if he could get me the individual part rather than a complete item at 24 euro. Sent in the post next day no cost.
Good luck with Tiki.
Good luck with Tiki.

If your looking for a complete tank, or even a projects or parts, check out the for sale and swaps section of this forum, you could pick up a bargain!

Hi,
One thing that has occurred to me - have you considered doing your own mods. This means you can spread the cost over a period.
I don't know about you, but I find that if I buy a ready built model I don't value it because I haven't put any work into it. It soon becomes little more than a toy to me and the novelty wears off. However if I put a lot of work into in myself it has more value to me and I will run it for years.
Just a thought!
