Here is a HL KV1E, metal edition that has received a bit of extra detailing and Tamiya electronics.
Here it is all finished: (the photos only show up cropped on this website, if you want to see the whole thing you have to left click on the photo and then choose show photo from the drop down list, then is will open up in a separate window)

This is what is looked like before it was painted.

This is the inside of the turret, a Tamiya Pershing recoil has been incorporated into the HL recoil assembly.

This is the inside of the hull with all the components installed.

The original model is the special offer from Asiatam which includes the KV1E with metal chassis, running gear, gearboxes and tracks. The lower hull assembly with metal wheels and with everything made with ball bearing races etc is in my opinion better than the Tamiya offering. No need for extra bracing here.
All the hatches and toolboxes are metal and open. Hatches were bought extra.
The drivers periscope opens and shuts using a miniservo.
A Tamiya battle system has been installed.
Tamiya electronics with the the new KV1 Tamiya sounds.
Many small improvements to the overall kit have been made such as weld seams, texturing, extra nuts and bolts, bits and bobs etc.
Jamara 480 motors have been installed.
I drove it for the first time at a model meeting on the weekend and it went really well, not losing its tracks or bogging down once. Ground clearance is a problem and it does tend to belly in on soft ground but is heavy enough that a few turning movements allow it to squash down the earth and continue on its way.
As you can see from the photos it got quite realistically muddy at the meeting too.
I will make a movie of it running sometime soon and post it here.
Cheers
Alan
