what does your tank weigh ?
Re: what does your tank weigh ?
Blake, does the added weight bottom out the tank suspension? I want to add metal tracks to the upper hull of my stug build instead of the plastic ones to make it look right. I am worried the tank may bottom out in addition if I place tacks on the lower hull between the road wheels also? Thanks Shotgun

Are you talking about adding some spare metal tracks to the upper hull. I'm adding spare metal tracks to my Panzer 111 hull. (have 17 spare tracks). Have not road tested this tank yet. My electronics just arrived today.

I removed my turret and stacked books on my Tiger with the intension of finding the bottom out weight, well at 35lbs. they still had some room left. Now that is sitting still on a scale, but driving puts another force on the control arms and at 20.6lbs I have not seen my tank bottom out but over obstacles the control arms do move alot but this seems more natural to me.
I do not have a PIII, not sure how the weight would effect that tracking system? But try the books and scale method it is easy to add and subtract weight. cheers Saxondog

Thanks for ideal on books Blake will try that. Johnf, I an thinking about adding track armor to the lower hull front and the top hull area over the ammo storage area and back hull area. Replacing the plastic tracks. I am also thinking about the side lower hull between the rollers on the sides, seen photos of that. Shotgun
