No. 1, If you do not vave etch primer , get some. This primer contains an acid which bonds the primer to the upper molecules of metal. Spray all your metal parts with this. I even painted the inside of my Asiatam hull with this. Give it over night to dry. Have a look at my recent post on Panzer 111.
No. 2,Prime erery thing with rust primer.
No.3, I use an airbrush. I basecoated with Valego German camo orange ocre 70824 or valego model air ochre 71033.
You could skip if you want.
No. 4, Paint with Valego dark yellow 70978 or model air71025. Left ocre showing in recessed areas and weld lines.
No. 5. I made up a highlight colour of Valego pale sand 70837 and Dark yellow. Apply to panels. Centre of panels outwards.
No. 6,For camo green I made up a mix of german camo medium green and reflective green but I have found Valego olive grey 70888 which is green not grey works well. Use well thinned and build up to the shade you want.
No 7, Apply paint chips if you want. Up to you. Some people prefer pristine. The tank can get its chips through wear and tear.
No. 8, Apply Rust if you like. I used a combination of pastels and airbrushing. Vallego model air rust 71080 works well.
No. 9 Some drybrushing with the lighter colours.
No. 10 I airbrushed the lower section with Gamesworkshop graveyard earth. very well thinned.
Hope this helps.

Excellent John, very specific and detailed. Many of us in the states use Rust colored primer from RUST-O-LEUM . So curious as to your color selection of Red Primer. Saxondog

Sorry Blake, meant rust primer. Empty can was dumped couldn't remember name on tom. I was replying to another member so copied reply to post for info. Very useful to keep details posted for my own reference and if it helps somebody else, even better.
Well spotted, you are paying attention.

Re: My Tiger 1 build Wittmann 1331
weapons are just airsoft but lots of internal upgrades so not suitable for shooting at airsoft games. they really hurt. Also repainted to look a bit mor realistic. I have lots of equppment and uniforms also.
