One thing maybe to do would be have a look at the smaller scales period buildings and then just scale them up, but a general vague rule is about 1 foot high building is to scale 16 foot IRL ie just about right for a ground then first floor.

ALso for referance material maybe looking at the History of XX town books that appear around xmas often have good pics from the 20-40's

Hi Guys If you are thinking of doing a french town there are not many brick built houses in Normandy most have the tudor house look white walls and wooden frames ,the roofs are either thatch corigated  or tile not slate.

If you guys are anything like me, you will have plenty of photos of tanks, look past the tanks at the buildings behind them. It will give you an idea of how big, what type, and what style are in the area you are interested in ;)

andy, i think i would make it in resin, and why not use plywood as the formers, that way it should look similar to the real thing, if you do it this way, put a few coats of gloss varnish on the plywood, so the resin dont stick to it
