Night Fighter Jagdpanther Strip and Repaint
Re: Night Fighter Jagdpanther Strip and Repaint
A few more pictures of the Jagdpanther paint work as I progress, I'm following the same steps as the Painting and Weathering post of My Tiger in Gray. This step is the scribbling of lighter gray on the darker gray base coat . Sax
Re: Night Fighter Jagdpanther Strip and Repaint
I have almost completed this build, so here are some more pictures..
Re: Night Fighter Jagdpanther Strip and Repaint
More pictures, the camo pattern is starting to develop,I sprayed some sections using clay to create the pattern and the sharp edges where the colors overlap. But this time I tried some new methods with my airbrush being used more selectively to create the effect.
Re: Night Fighter Jagdpanther Strip and Repaint
More photos of the detailing starting to come together, the Schurzen panels are a first for me and am not sure how well they will turn out...
Re: Night Fighter Jagdpanther Strip and Repaint
The photos below are a example of the finishing details I have added and reflect some additional painting to create a better look and more defined lines. The last three post and this one reflect several days of work and drying time. At one point I was tempted to strip again, this time I decided to use the airbrush at low pressure to correct some of the overspray issues and to create a better defined pattern...

Re: Night Fighter Jagdpanther Strip and Repaint
At this point the Matte coat Varnish needs to be sprayed and allowed to dry completely, this next step will require 4-days to complete as 48hrs is required to dry each coat. Then I will add the finer detailing of tools, equipment, and other details on the hull. The Matte varnish will change the effect of the pattern, dulling the finish down to a very flat look. So far I am well pleased with the look, this is Jagdpanther 313 of Fuhrer Grenadier Division in Dec.1944 a Grossdeutschland unit which operated one company (3rd) of 10 Jagdpanther's 313 being the 3rd company, first platoon, third Jagdpanther.

Re: Night Fighter Jagdpanther Strip and Repaint
Added hull details to see the effect, still much to do. Also no weathering or washes so far. Saxondog
Re: Night Fighter Jagdpanther Strip and Repaint
Have added the grills and the jack block. Also the axle hub covers have been added which is a detail I forgot completely about and now must paint and weather these as well as the tank itself. I am reluctant to spray the varnish as I have very little left and would not want to mess this paintwork up.
