Pigment thinner, pigment fixer :? confused

Pigment thinner, pigment fixer :? confused

Hi i want to add a bit of rust to my tamiya pershing and im not sure what all this pigment thinner and fixer stuff is, i mean cant i just use water to thin the pigments and just use matte varnish to fix the pigments to the tank?

I used a technique of chalk coloring,sealed with Johnson's floor polish then Matt Varnish. This works well to simulate rust in seams and on larger area's like exhaust mufflers and pipes. Sax

yes you can if its acrylic with no problem
