Asiatam quality

Post by xrad »

Most of the products I have bought from Asiatam have been very good quality. But my last two major purchases of a panzer III hull and Jagpanther metal Ball bearing wheel set (Not the set with the tiny bolts and screws) have what appears to be a decrease in rubber quality .

The rubber tires on the exact same products bought one year ago had very nice rubber which seems to have more of a polyurethane feel, and less of the Chinese rubber smell....

Seems like these new rubber tires will dry out faster and maybe fail over the years...anyone else notice this???

I have not purchased that set of wheels but it is on my Jagdpanther wish list, they were reported to be excellent quality when they first hit the market, perhaps the old bottom dollars effect has finally caught up with Asiatam? Two bad the Tiger Hull has been bullet proof.

the metal parts of the wheels are great.... machined and cast very well. just the rubber on my PIII and JP wheels seems weak compared to the older sets. Certainly not a well mixed as the rubber on the P IV tammy wheels.

the new set of tires for the JP are more rough cast, and actually look better, but i would be hesitant to stretch them more than once for fitting as they appear to have the recoil of an old rubber band left on the back seat of a 57 buick for a texas summer........... 8O
