DORKING MODELS in Surrey, I kid ye not guys, this is the best model shop in the WORLD, and ive seen lots. racks and racks of kits, loads of stuff for the scratch builder. If you want a kit/materials give it a go YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPOINTED. Score, about, 127 out of 10........

Bristol Area:
Frome Model Centre - Excellent, bit of a drive for me but I have bought tons of RC stuff in there for cars & trucks. 8/10
Antics - How can a huge chain stock so little. Ok for paint and modelling materials though. 5/10
Model Mania - Good honest shop privately owned and run by the most helpful guy on the planet. Mainly trains, doesn't do RC, he has a huge stock of static scale cars, lorries, tanks, military, modelling materials, scenery etc. Brilliant. 9/10

It has to be said that as far as tanks go, it's only the likes of Military Might, Welsh Dragon Armour and Tankzone that stock what we need?

Sorry to say, I don't have any good shops in my immediate area. The best I can recommend is Mr Models in Bearwood on the outskirts of Brum. Its your typical old fashioned treasure trove model shop about the size of a phone box on steroids. No brightly lit shelves, just floor to ceiling, stacked with kits of all types and makes. It looks like the stock was organised by tossing a grenade into the place! Can't get there too often but could spent the whole day there when I do go. Its like meeting old friends finding kits I made as a kid, brilliant. This guy also sells at most of the large model making meets throughout the midlands at least, very knowledgable, very helpful.

Affinity Models in Longton, Stoke on Trent has a few 1/16 tanks but is an absolute goldmine for paints/tools/airbrushes/compressors etc and thousands of static kits. The staff are extremely knowledgable and extremely friendly. I would recomend a visit to this shop to any body in or near Stoke on Trent.
