Panther Profiline Schurtzen

Post by Nic.H »

Hi, I bought the profiline skirts a while ago for the panther, and this afternoon i decided to grind off the plastic ones and have a bash at fitting up the brass ones. The problem I have is that one of the top "hull strips" has a cut out on, this is on the right hand side apparently....but I have not seen this on any pictures or other builds yet....can anyone throw some light on this?....thanks

Right, in this picture from Panther in detail..by Culver and Feist...you can just make out the cut out

And here is my panther...with me holding the "running boards/debris guards" in place

Its so they didn't have to move the shovel.

You can't really see it in the first pic but the shovel goes through the running board

Ahhhhh!.....never thought about the tools, as the heng long plastic tool rack was not interfearing with the running boards.

Thanks for that Woz, as it was really bugging me

Yep...slot for shovel. They discuss this mod on several pages of 'Panzer tracts" Jagdpanther #9-something....

I like those tracks! I have a set on my JP and they are great.

Hi xrad....I could not see the wood for the trees!....the heng long tool rack is made to fit(with squashed/shrunken spade!), I did not know it was incorrect so it was a right pain in the head trying to figure out what the cut out was for, I bought a few bits and bobs from wecohe for detail, and skirts are from welshdragon. The tracks are great...can not remember who i got them off....I tend to delete the email invoices before the wife sees them! ...and I have just installed the 3:1 gear boxes, what a difference...

Nic

Ps, thanks for the tip about panzer tracts
