I modified this H/L PZIV to appeartotake a hit, burn and smoke. i was not happy with the flashig LEDs so I used an old smoker. I placed a push button in the barrel where the plunger would strike it. That gave some random flashes. Th smoker is a railroad smoker that will put out a lot and I mean a lot of smoke.
I used a Radio Shack Sound module to simulate the explosion. Micro-switches were placed nex to the turret ring, so as it rotated the effects are triggered.
I was hoping the sound of the old smoker would be likethe popping of exploding ammo, but that seems to to have done very well. Still it was a quick and fun little project. The tank is still fully operational as none of the original electronics were touched.
Here are some vids.
