I was at some point going to say that Tamiya have a 4 channel connection page on their website.
Is this your first Tamiya ? What do you think of it mate ?

Nick.
i did such a great job of examining the instructions the fact that i completley missed the 2 channel bit well ermm.. im not even going there :wtf: :wtf:

i like it nick it is my first tammy would i get another  maybe if they were the same or similar price as a h/long

the detailing on the final model straight out the box isnt going to win any prizes (not from me anyway)

loved the mechanical building side of it but that reminded me more of the tammy cars i built ;) and was finished before i got my mitts really into it

the barrel lift is noisy and ermm crap imho

so all in all glad i didnt pay uk prices for it :{

To be fair, the Tamiya Sherman isn't their best kit. It does take a fair amount of work to correct. But there's nothing like the feeling of getting all those parts to form a functioning tank. :D

The Tiger on the other hand is a beauty, and well worth the price tag. It has the correct asymetrical turret & the offset gun. Its a fantastic runner out of the box, and with a few upgrades, is as solid as a rock! Hopefully it'll be a Panther next. :D I think Tamiya's are worth every penny, so much so i'd convert any HL tanks Tamiya don't make over to Tamiya electronics. I am a bit of a fanboi though, lol.

The gearboxes do get quieter over time, they just need to be run in. The elevation can be fixed by gluing the slipper clutch gear fixed.

Cheers,
Rik

The Pershing and Panzer IV are ment to be fantastic runners, so are the KV's, but i'm not a fan of Russian tanks. I wholehartedly recommend the Tiger though, excellent tank, and a vast quantity of upgrade and detailing parts avaliable.

Rob mate,
The Sherm as you know is an old Tamiya warrior. The new Tam stuff is probably much improved on an old concept.
However, the Turret rotation and Maingun elevation units can be improved in a way that makes them a lot quieter.
Take a look at the units Rob and do what I did. That is ,try to take the slop out,by packing with appropriate sized washers. It does make them quieter.

Let me know if this is any good.

NIck.
