kv-1 wandering hatch

Hi guy's here is my two cents worth. I am halfway through a Heng Long build I am changing into a KV-2. I bought the book KV-1& 2 Heavy Tanks 1939-45, by New Vanguard, Osprey Publishing. From what I have seen in the book and all the Russian sites I have looked at, the driver hatch is forward. The turret hatch is all over the map from front to back and off two the side. At first I thought maybe they are from different production plants, now I am thinking is the hatch in a ring mount? If you do an internet search of the Russian sites, or go to The" Russian Battlefield" site you will see photos with hatches in different locations. Not sure if this helps you. Shotgun

i have a couple of blueprints for the early kv-1 with the l-11 gun and it looks like the hatch is just a simple hinge

dont have any blueprints of later vehicles thogh
