Post by panzer3 »

i am relatively used to the r/c tank group
can anyone tell me why it is so hard to fine 1/16 Sherman tanks , and if there are any plans for any to come into the market ,,,,

There are two Sherman's avaliable in 1/16. The Mato one, which is HL quality, and is based on an earlier VVSS suspension 76mm gun version. Then you have the Tamiya one, which is based on a very late war HVSS suspension 105mm Howitzer version.

The Tamiya one is a very obscure version that only 890 were ever made and fought from the Bulge onwards. With a bit of work, and the suspension from the Mato one, you can make a very good Sherman.

Check out the Tamiya build section, there's several Sherman builds ongoing, including mine.
