Thanks for the advice guys, it seems there were a few ways to attach them to the glacis. I've started to really like the hooks method, it looks nice. I can make them easily from PE set sprue.
i'll post some pics when they're done. Your efforts are much more elegant though afv! ;)

Thanks Rik, it's just the way i prefered it and a good exercise in " can i still do it with shakey hands ".

I believe I have seen somewhere that the tracklinks was mounted with tubes and wires welded on the plate. Let me see if I can find some pictures for you about this.

looked through some of my tiger books and took some pictures of examples

Pictures shows that they are wired and properly not welded. Still want to find the picture I know that I have seen with the mounting pipes to support the belts.

Thank you for the pictures steen. They are excellent shots. What do you think the wires were tied to on the upper hull?

well, I havent really seen any pictures from above, but will try to look into the books again.

The pictures are from books "Tigers on the Eastern Front" Tiger Battalion 503" and "Tigers in Combat"

All are fantastic books with at lot of details.
